Our Mission
The mission of the Sojourner Truth School (PS/MS 149) is to provide opportunities for all students to be “well-rounded,” confident, and resilient citizens of society. We desire for our students to become dedicated contributors and leaders, inventors, educators, and “world changers.”
We strive to forge strong partnerships with parents, families, and school community members that will provide a supportive environment where all students excel. Sojourner Truth School believes that all students should be provided an invigorating learning environment where there are embedded opportunities in all subject areas to become critical thinkers, active problem-solvers, inquisitive readers, diligent researchers, and creative writers.
